I chose four famous artworks made near the time of the Renaissance and designed 16 cards inspired by them. I changed the four suits traditionally in a 52-card deck to the four seasons in the year. Each season had a painting associated with it.

Spring: Primavera by Botticelli

Summer: Parnassus by Raphael

Fall: Triumph of the Virtues by Mantegna

Winter: The Très Riches Heures du Duc de Berry(February) by the Limbourg brothers

I selected elements of each piece to represent either a face or a numbered card from each suit.

I made all the cards in Illustrator to make future printing and sizing easier.
